Responsibilities of Senior Staff Accountant:
- Understand and ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Create, analyze, reconcile, and post journal entries assigned to accounts in ERP
- Prepare timely, detailed, and accurate account reconciliations along with accurate journal entries posted into the financial systems.
- Determine the accuracy of balances, figures, calculations, and postings, and investigate and reconcile any differences.
- Maintain documentation for all work products, particularly month-end closing work
- Prepare daily cash reports and forecasts for cash flow reporting
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve
- Understand, propose, and independently establish internal control
- Support the preparation of financial budgets, forecasts, and tax audits
- Backup for other functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory receiving, and payroll.
- Abide by all standards of integrity and compliance with all company policies, procedures, and Team Member Handbook.
- Perform other tasks as may be reasonably
Preferred Experience of Senior Staff Accountant:
- BS degree in accounting, finance, or any other relevant degree
- 3-5 years of work experience as an
- In-depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices, and procedures on manual and automated systems
- Hard-working with a high level of enthusiasm, personal energy, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written/oral communication skills
This role is fully on-site in New Haven and offers a salary of $75,000-80,000, depending on experience.
