Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist

Maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Manage and review AP transactions for correct categorization and GAAP compliance.
Prepare accurate and timely wholesale invoices; coordinate with sales and vault teams as needed.
Create weekly reports for past-due Accounts Receivable and follow up with customers to collect outstanding balances.
Ensure revenue, cost of sales, and expenses are accurately recorded according to IRS 280E.
Assist with payroll processing, month-end close, and financial reporting processes.
Ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws (including overtime, holiday pay, income withholdings, etc.).
Provide benefits administration support to the Controller.

Preferred Requirements of the Accounting Specialist

Bachelor's degree in accounting.
1-2 years of accounting experience with strong attention to detail.
Industry experience in agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or retail is preferred; cannabis industry experience is a plus.
Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Suite.
