Controller

Overview:

CFS is working with a local manufacturing company hiring for a Controller. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a background in cost accounting, preparing financial statements, and excellent leadership abilities. This role provides an excellent benefits package, growth track to C-Suite, and hybrid flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight:
    • Manage and oversee the daily operations of accounting departments across multiple companies.
    • Prepare consolidated financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement business and financial strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Lead and support accounting staff.
    • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
    • Establish financial and accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
    • Act as a primary contact for external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification highly preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experienced with cost accounting for manufacturing entities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, NetSuite)

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience in food/beverage manufacturing.

Salary: $170,000 - 190,000
