Position: Director of Investor Relations Job Description: Forward Air is looking for a talented Director of Investor Relations. This position will report to the SVP, Treasury/Investor Relations and is responsible for developing and executing the investor relations program in its totality. This position will also have the opportunity to assist and work closely with the Treasury and FP&A departments. This individual would have the energy, drive, and ability to execute, and is flexible, agile, resilient, and adaptable to a rapid-paced environment. Core Responsibilities & Duties: Creates or assists in creating the publications and electronic media used in the IR program including, but not limited to: Quarterly results and other news releases Executes webcasts, usually in conjunction with conference calls and investment conference presentations Contracts for conference call services, webcast providers, web site hosts, surveillance, proxy solicitation and other IR services as needed Ensure that news releases about webcasts are published in advance of the live event Collaborates with the head of IR on the Investor Relations website section and content. Ensures content is easy to find and archived for the proper amount of time Supports the IR website archive of historical information for investors Executes theme, content, design, production, and delivery of the annual report Assists with media news stories, particularly fact checking and Q&A prep Provides support for the following activities: Annual shareholder meeting Presentations at broker-sponsored conferences and meetings Presentations at company-hosted meetings Discussions with analysts and review of draft reports for accuracy of publicly disclosed information Visits by the head of IR and other senior leaders to institutional investors Visits by investors to the company headquarters or other company sites Educates and updates investors and analysts Responds to prospective investor inquiries Assist with drafting and preparing conference call scripts and, practice questions & answers In collaboration with the head of IR, supports the investors’ decision-making processes through visits to institutions, individual meetings, visits by analysts and investors to company terminals, and visits with other senior leaders Establishes and maintains the company’s disclosure policy Contracts for and directs the capital markets database and intelligence system that supports the investor relations program Educates, influences and advocates with ESG investors, advisors, raters and rankers. Schedules and provides preparation materials before all engagements, including investor profiles, key messages and likely questions Supervises and documents the collection, analysis, and reporting of feedback from analysts and investors about their perceptions of the company Provides competitive intelligence from Wall Street to company leaders, and appropriate operations Collaborate with FP&A teams to integrate investor expectations into earnings forecasts and budget plans, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy. Analyze financial performance metrics and market trends to effectively communicate the company’s financial narrative to investors. Work with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with investor interests, influencing long-term planning and capital allocation decisions. Partner with the treasury team to analyze and communicate the company’s capital structure and funding strategies to investors. Collaborate on cash flow management strategies, providing insights into investor sentiment that may affect liquidity and financial planning. Engage with Financial Reporting, Public Relations, Marketing, Legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and strategic alignment. Remains current on best practices in IR, disclosure rules, changes in accounting, technology, and similar subjects Some travel may be required from time to time Other Treasury and FP&A duties and projects as assigned Qualifications: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. More than five years of experience in investor relations, finance, accounting, or corporate communication positions for a public company. College degree required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability.
