POSITION SUMMARY

The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) at Marshall plays a pivotal role in crafting and executing a comprehensive people strategy aimed at fostering associate well-being and advancing the organization's mission and vision. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a vital member of the executive team, the CHRO is deeply attuned to Marshall's strategic goals and contributes to shaping organizational strategy by offering insights into the broader HR landscape. With accountability for all administrative and operational aspects of human resources management across the organization, the CHRO spearheads innovative initiatives and policies spanning talent strategy, talent management, workforce development, leadership optimization, total rewards, employee/labor relations, HRIS, performance management, workforce planning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs. In addition to driving the design and implementation of HR initiatives, the CHRO ensures alignment with Marshall's strategic objectives by sourcing top-tier talent and capabilities to support organizational success. Anticipating and addressing both current and future challenges in healthcare HR management, the CHRO maintains a proactive approach to tackling a wide array of issues affecting the workforce. Directly leading the HR division and indirectly overseeing all employees within it, the CHRO serves as a catalyst for cultivating a culture of excellence, fostering employee engagement, and championing initiatives that promote the well-being and professional growth of associates throughout Marshall and its affiliates.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Master's in business administration (MBA) or Master's Degree (MA/MS) in Human Resources or related field required.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
  • *Must meet all DMV requirements listed below.
Knowledge:
  • A minimum of ten years of Human Resource experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience.
  • Must have knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) techniques and experience with team building.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends, laws and regulations, and other factors influencing Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion programs.
Skills:
  • Experiences where leadership, integrity, initiative, and effective communication skills have been demonstrated.
  • Ability to develop and meet budgetary objectives.

*Note: Requires employees to drive at least once per pay period. Candidates must possess and supply proof of a current CA Driver's License, a clean DMV printout and Auto Insurance coverage with a minimum of $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence.
