Compensation
- $42/hr. Flat Rate
- Evening differential $2.50/hr.
- Night differential $3.00/hr.
- Weekend differential $3.00/hr.
Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a fast paced 24 bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit. Common problems seen in our unit include chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our nurse patient ratio ranges from 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Our care team includes a charge nurse and unit assistants with support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a 6-8 week orientation program with a dedicated preceptor team, complemented by classroom courses, and a nurse residency program for new graduates. Job SummaryRN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care strategy,
- establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care,
- evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or
- Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
Experience
- Previous hospital experience helpful preferred.
(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience).
Schedule
- This position is either days or nights.
- The weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule period.
- The holiday requirement is one summer holiday and one winter holiday.
Licensure / Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
