Job Summary: The staff RN is a professional caregiver who follows the framework of primary nursing and assumes responsibility and accountability for the care and teaching of groups of patients/families for a designated time frame. The staff RN directs and provides care to these patients utilizing therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other team members. Job Requirements: Licensure/Certification: Current California RN license. Current CPR card required. Experience: Must have one (1) year experience in the PICU or NICU in the immediately preceeding five (5) years. Alternatively, an ED or PACU/DI nurse may have at least one (1) year of PICU or NICU experience in the immediately preceding ten (10) years, provided that the majority of the non-PICU/NICU work time was in the ED or PACU/DI. Physical Requirements: Sit: Up to 3 hours/day Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hours Lift/Push/Pull: 40lbs. or over 40# with assistance lbs. with assistance or equipment Ability to comply with infection control and other safety policies. This job requires the ability to hear alarms, clients and/or instruction the ability to see accurately from 20 inches to 20 feet.
