Salary:

$50,544 - 53,577 per year, depending on experience. Plus, excellent fringe benefits.

Summary of Function:

The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events predominately serves the Arizona Western College community by supporting the organization and planning of exemplary programs and services designed to enhance student success, community engagement, and the overall student experience. Reporting Directly to the Director of Campus Life, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events serves as a proactive, solution-oriented representative for the Arizona Western College District. The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events is primarily responsible for overseeing the overall development and implementation of campus-wide student engagement experiences/events. Additionally, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events will oversee and support student clubs & organizations, civic engagement opportunities, student and staff mixers, student connection activities, remote engagement activities, as well as educational trips and out-of-classroom experiences. The incumbent will also develop and implement innovative student engagement experiences as well as a standardized student activities/event request process. Additionally, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events serves as a student advocate or college representative during student conduct and community practice meetings or student Title-IX reviews and implementation.

Typical Duties:Serves students. The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events is primarily tasked with empowering student success through event coordination and district-wide activities. The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events is a primary point of contact for student engagement and activities, including but not limited to Yuma and Campus community care events/activities, co-curricular student activities, game day events, concerts, commencement, monthly multicultural events/recognition activities, alcohol and drugs programming, high-profile lectures, and other student-centered activities and events. The Coordinator of Events & Student. Engagement Activities assumes direct leadership and responsibility for managing and supervising student events and engagement. Additionally, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events is tasked with developing and promoting campus and district-wide activities that reflect and promote the college's values and mission, leveraging the talents and strengths of the AWC student population.As a student engagement and events leader, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events coordinates, oversees, and promotes student clubs and organizations. The coordinator recruits and provides training for club advisors, updates manuals and processes, oversees club card practices and fiscal responsibilities, follows established institutional guidelines, and communicates with faculty and staff advisors.Responsible for developing and overseeing club application(s) and approval processes, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events establishes and maintains detailed records of active and inactive student clubs and organizations and updates social media platforms and marketing campaigns.In collaboration with the Director of Campus Life and the Dean of Students, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events serves as a representative in developing and implementing data collection techniques related to the overall student experience and student-centered feedback on institutional initiatives & programming. The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events is also responsible for completing department assessments as well as feedback surveys for events.Additional duties include assessing and recommending innovative technology and student events that enhance the overall student experience and satisfaction.As a campus collaboration for district-wide events and engagements, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events supports the overall implementation and execution of student-centered requests and supports. Additional responsibilities include supporting and overseeing student space requests & recommendations, student civic engagement activities, freedom of expression exercises and procedures, voting practices and processes, oversight of student club & activities spaces, supporting with inventory management, overseeing and managing requests of event supplies and equipment requests, overseeing and developing equipment check-in/out procedures, as well as supporting with grand openings, ribbon-cutting events, and other applicable activities/events related to the overall student experience.Providing oversight and leadership for event and student activity staff, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events executes all human capital activities, including, but not limited to, staff education and training, hiring and terminations, corrective action and feedback, goal setting, and performance improvement.XAs an advisor for the Student Activities Board, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events oversees overall club operations and support. The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events is also responsible for supporting the professional development of Arizona Western College students, providing opportunities for club members to attend developmental training and conferences related to large event planning and management.Serving as a conflict resolution resource, the Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events promotes and encourages positive student interactions while supporting the AWC student conduct and office of community practices process.As a Budget Officer, The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events provides direct management and oversight for multiple GL accounts and object lines. Maintaining organized records of fiscal projects and analyses and supporting recommendations and approvals of budget transfers, requisitions, and standard purchasing procedures.The Coordinator of Student Engagement & Events serves as the primary point of contact for summer student engagement programs and events in collaboration with the Director of Campus Life.The Coordinator of Events & Student Engagement develops summer event procedures and plans and executes all logistical arrangements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to communications with appropriate internal and external entities regarding event progress, including ensuring the coordination of activities with other on-campus departments such as facilities and food services, support with the request of venue requests, and support with billing development and recommendations.Supports and participates in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in psychology, event planning, business management, educational leadership, or related field, AND two (2) years of experience in student services, event planning and activities, educational leadership, or a related field, AND one (1) year of experience with human capital activities and personnel managementORBachelor's degree in higher education administration, psychology, educational leadership, business management, or related field, AND two (3) years of experience in student services, event planning and activities, educational leadership, or a related field, AND one (2) years of experience with human capital activities and personnel managementAn equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered; leadership experience in community college setting is preferredAdditional Eligibility Requirements:
