Bronco is an applied AI lab helping chipmakers keep Moore’s law going. Our mission is to build AI silicon engineers that can automate chip design and verification from initial spec to final tape-out.We are starting with the first AI Design Verification Engineer to help close the verification gap, which is where the bottleneck currently is and where we have the most leverage.We are well-funded and backed by tier-1 investors, including YC, 8VC, Elad Gil, SV Angel, and Contrary Capital. Our company has established strong relationships with the leading academic and industry researchers in the field of AI for Chip Design.About the roleAs a founding software engineer at Bronco AI, you will complement our team's rich AI background by lending your domain expertise in helping build intelligent reasoning systems for chip verification.The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer who seeks to get closer to the cutting edge of AI and work in a high-ownership, high-velocity environment.What you'll doDesign and implement core components of our AI-powered engineering systemsDevelop and optimize systems for large-scale data processing and machine learningCollaborate with domain experts to incorporate specialized knowledge into AI systemsContribute to the architecture and development of our LLM-based applications and agentic systemsImplement and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient codeStay current with the latest advancements in AI, software engineering, and relevant domain areasQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferredStrong proficiency in Python and/or C++Proficiency in full-stack web development4+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on AI/ML applicationsExperience building LLM applications and agentic LLM systems, including:Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Agent orchestrationAdvanced reasoning techniquesQuantifying performance with evalsDataset curationStrong intuition about computer architecture to quickly understand chip design and verification tasksFamiliarity with cloud computing platforms and distributed systemsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication abilities and experience working in cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsBackground or experience with Electrical or Computer EngineeringFamiliarity with chip design and verification processes

Experience with high-performance computing and optimization
