Senior Backend Engineer
to join our
ATS
team, where you'll build cutting-edge solutions that transform the way companies source, attract, evaluate, and hire talent. From Applicant Tracking to Candidate Experience and Interview Scheduling, the systems you help build will play a critical role in how businesses grow their teams-efficiently and at scale.
As a key contributor to Rippling's evolving talent suite, you'll work on high-impact initiatives that directly shape the future of hiring. With major product launches on the horizon in 2025, this is an opportunity to tackle complex engineering challenges, drive real-world impact, and help businesses hire the right people faster and smarter.
What You'll Do:

Experience:
5+ years of experience in backend development with expertise in Python, Django, or similar technologies. Technical Expertise:
Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and system design. You're comfortable working with systems at scale and can navigate complex technical challenges. Product Focused:
You're not just a coder-you care deeply about the end user, product design, and delivering an intuitive, polished experience. Entrepreneurial Spirit:
You thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment. You don't just solve problems-you identify them, own them, and create solutions that have a lasting impact. Frontend Knowledge:
Experience with React or JavaScript is a plus, but not required

This role will receive a competitive salary + benefits + equity. The salary for US-based employees will be aligned with one of the ranges below based on location; see which tier applies to your location here.

The pay range for this role is:
159,000 - 278,250 USD per year (US San Francisco Bay Area)
