Our Client prides itself on delivering exceptional quality and service, grounded in safety, integrity, and excellence.Position OverviewOur Client is seeking a highly skilled Chief Estimator to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Estimating, the Chief Estimator will be the primary member responsible for the creation of budgets and estimates across various projects. This role involves overseeing the estimating process for both bids and awarded projects, ensuring that high standards are maintained throughout.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the estimating team in creating comprehensive budgets and estimates for all projects.Analyze past project performance to establish future estimating standards and maintain a historical cost database.Oversee procedures, processes, techniques, and personnel decisions within the estimating department.Manage resources, including personnel and software, required for estimating functions on diverse projects, including Design-Build projects.Assign responsibilities to estimating team members for each project.Review project plans and specifications to confirm complete scope and identify potential risks.Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring a competitive bidding process.Prepare bid solicitation documents, including instructions to bidders and bid forms.Conduct quantity surveys and manage the pricing efforts for internal budgets.Develop conceptual budgets from minimal information and review project logistics and scopes of work.Ensure consistent flow of project information and documentation.Collaborate with specialty contractors and marketing teams to meet technical proposal requirements.Engage with operational staff to review constructability issues and assist project teams with successful proposals.Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends, analyzing alternative methods for economic efficiency.Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, design teams, specialty contractors, and suppliers.Actively participate in industry and community relations to enhance the company’s reputation.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.A minimum of 15 years of estimating or project experience on building projects valued at $200 million or more.Proficient in estimating software, particularly Timberline, OST, and Revit, as well as all MS Office products.Strong mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.Ability to logically sequence construction operations and work effectively in a team environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in high-pressure situations.Strong organizational skills and a robust work ethic, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and traveling as required.Salary RangeThe salary range for this position is $249,000 to $314,000, commensurate with experience.
