The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Director for our Facilities Services office.The Director is responsible for the cost effective and timely delivery of the California courthouse facilities operations and capital construction program. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and in conjunction with the Court Facilities Advisory Committee, Court Security Advisory Committee, and the Trial Court Facilities Modification Advisory Committee, the Director oversees all aspects of capital planning, site acquisition, design, construction, commissioning, risk and quality compliance, and operations and maintenance of the Council’s portfolio.Facilities Services is responsible for providing a broad range of services to the courts from facility planning, design and construction, renovation, facility operations management, environmental compliance and sustainability, real estate services, security, and asset management. Major areas of responsibility include management of a $1.3 billion budget; staff of over 145 employees; acquisition and assemblage of sites for capital construction programs; administration of 370 leases; emergency planning and security operations, environmental regulatory compliance of over 450 facilities; responsible for building operations and maintenance, repairs and modifications to 22.4 million square feet of existing facilities, housing the largest judiciary in the United States.Last, the Director is responsible for the supervision and delegation of work for all Facilities Services staff, develops policies and procedures, project delivery methods, provides owners representation during the design and construction process, and plans and executes multi-million-dollar projects across the state. The Director maintains relationships with both the executive and legislative branches of the State of California, in addition to various other stakeholders, and provides continual updates and information to trial court leadership on the progress of current construction.
