The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As a

Sr Designer Knits, Leisure, and Sweaters , you’ll be accountable for and lead Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from your brand Director and design leaders to achieve overall knits and sweaters product design strategy and merchant objectives. You will design

Universal Thread Knit, Leisure, and Sweaters

categories utilizing your proficiency/expertise in knits and sweaters product design and development. You will be accountable for and lead the PD&D Design and Development Processes, which includes:

Work with Design Director Build seasonal collections based on global and domestic trends.

Globally shop markets to identify category, brand, business or guest segment trends.

Being an industry expert; able to forecast category, brand, business or guest segment trends.

Continuous evolution and improvements to enhance overall design, sourcing, and execution of knits, leisure, and sweaters in line with Target Forward sustainability initiatives.

Diligent approach to workload, maintaining good, timely communication with internal and external partners.

Partner cross-functionally with the Merchandising team to maintain style counts that match the merchandising plan.

Close collaboration with CFT and vendor partners to ensure end to end execution of product.

As a

Leader of People , you will lead and mentor Associate Designers and Designer level direct reports and enables collaboration among the larger team.

You will be expected to drive and lead:

Knits, Leisure, Sweaters Concepts, select color stories and develop fabrics, prints, trim and graphics.

Brand cohesion; partner with peers across the division to ensure continuity.

Product designs to support merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction.

Collaboration with technical designers and sourcing partners to identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues.

About you:

Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area, or equivalent experience.

Deep knowledge and expertise in the knits and sweaters materials, and process and execution.

Minimum 7+ years of industry experience, inclusive of knits, leisure, and sweaters categories, leading in volume and building brands.

Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Advanced understanding of knit textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production (including sweaters yarns & knitting constructions, knits and sweater fabrications).

Knowledge of washed product execution for both optimal fabric hand feel as well as color loss.

Commercial sense, market knowledge, ability to research and apply market/trend information.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to successfully work in a team environment.

Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions.

Knowledge of the end-to-end product development processes.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
