This pivotal role requires strategic collaboration with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and customer support leaders to drive performance, engagement, and operational excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Proactive and Strategic HR Partnership:
Collaborate with senior operations leadership and management to understand business needs and provide relevant HR solutions that support the manufacturing and supply chain team's goals.
Develop and implement an HR roadmap with annual priorities aligned with global business objectives and manufacturing/supply chain priorities.
Talent Management:
Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies for all key manufacturing and supply chain roles, focused on managers and above leaders.
Develop talent pipeline strategies in partnership with the operations leaders for hard-to-fill and critical roles across sites.
Support succession planning and career development programs to build a talent pipeline for key positions within the manufacturing and supply chain team.
Employee Relations:
Act as a point of escalation contact for employee relations issues, providing consistent guidance and resolution to conflicts and concerns.
Ensure compliance with local and global labor laws and manage the oversight of the investigation process, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution in collaboration with local HR teams.
Establish a roadmap to standardize and streamline HR policies and practices across different sites; maintain any necessary site-specific needs with standardization as the default principle.
Partner with management in support of employee engagement initiatives and communication strategies.
Performance Management:
Partner with managers to drive performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
Support the implementation of performance improvement plans and address performance issues proactively.
Organizational Development and Change Management:
Facilitate organizational change initiatives and support the implementation of organizational development programs.
Identify and address organizational effectiveness opportunities and promote best practices across global manufacturing sites.
Support change management initiatives by providing guidance on HR-related aspects of organizational changes, mergers, acquisitions, and organization redesign efforts.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
Leverage the HR dashboard and HR metrics and analytics to provide insights and recommendations on workforce trends, engagement, and other key HR indicators.
Prepare and present reports to leadership on HR activities, challenges, and successes.
Global Compliance:
Ensure HR practices and policies are compliant with local regulations and global standards.
Stay updated on global HR trends and regulatory changes affecting the manufacturing and supply chain sector.
Team Leadership and Budget Management:
Lead, mentor, manage, and staff a team of site HR managers and HR generalists, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting a culture of excellence.
Drive team performance by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.
Drive strong partnerships with HR global centers of excellence and the HR operations team to ensure full utilization of centrally generated HR services for manufacturing and supply chain employees.
Establish, manage, and be accountable for the annual team budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategic objectives.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; master's degree and/or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
12+ years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or a similar role, focusing on supporting manufacturing or industrial operations.
Excellent leadership skills; 5+ years of team leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of global HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex employee relations issues and performance management processes.
Strong analytical skills and experience with HR metrics and data-driven decision-making.
Ability to work effectively in a global and culturally diverse environment.
An extremely high level of energy, sense of urgency, and decisiveness, along with sound problem-solving and negotiating skills.
Ability to travel 10-15% of time.
Accelerators:
Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their impact on HR practices.
Knowledge of basic safety rules and requirements for a manufacturing environment to share concerns to the safety department.
