Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU)

is looking for a
Communications Specialist
to support internal and external communications efforts. The specialist will draft, edit, and manage communications across multiple platforms, including social media, newsletters, and internal reports. This role is key in maintaining the OSDBU’s visibility and engagement with various stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesAssist OSDBU in drafting and editing written materials, including Department notices for Congress, media, and other stakeholders.Liaise with other communication teams to maintain effective relationships with partners and community representatives.Support internal and external event logistics (virtual and in-person).Serve as the OSDBU Social Media Liaison, researching and developing OSDBU-specific content for newsletters, blogs, social media posts, and videos.Draft and coordinate content development for the OSDBU newsletter.Assist in promoting and executing internal events and prepare post-event reports.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum RequirementsEducation : Bachelor's degree (no specific field required).Experience : Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.Skills :
Exceptional proofreading and editing capabilities.Proficiency in generating verbal, graphic, and written communications.Knowledge of media relations and social networking tools.Ability to operate audiovisual equipment and maintain confidentiality.Fluency in English and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Location : Hybrid (1-2 days in-person) at the Department of Commerce office in Washington, DC
