Senior Associate Director for AI in Teaching and LearningAbout the OpportunityJOB SUMMARYThe Senior Associate Director for AI in Teaching and Learning collaborates with the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research (CATLR) team and Northeastern faculty to advance the frontier of education innovation, with a special emphasis on generative AI and other emerging technologies that promote evidence-based experiential learning. This position will work closely with CATLR leadership on the design, implementation, documentation, and improvement of college-embedded faculty partnership programs (e.g., Scholars and Fellows). The goal of this work is to maximize students' deep learning through the acceleration and expansion of evidence-based innovation across Northeastern's multi-campus Global Network. As a core member of the CATLR team, this position will also engage in regular duties related to ongoing work, such as confidential consultations, workshop development and implementation, and major events (e.g., CATLR's annual Conference on Advancing Evidence-Based Learning and New Faculty Orientation).NOTE: This position requires at least one day in the office each week on Northeastern's Boston campus.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIESDevelop, document, assess, and improve faculty partnership programs and other offerings related to evidence-based use of emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI) in support of deep, experiential learning.In coordination with CATLR leadership, represent CATLR in meetings with key stakeholders that advance the center's mission to serve as a hub and connector for innovation across the Global Network.Create, implement, and assess offerings that support educators across the Global Network in the design of courses, curricula, and other educational programs/initiatives.Contribute to scholarly teaching by collaborating with faculty on initiatives and studies that require educational expertise. Keep current on scholarship and other initiatives relevant to emerging technologies in support of deep, experiential learning.Consult with faculty members and advise programs on all aspects of the educational design, teaching, and assessment process.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated evidence of leadership and scholarly practice related to emerging technologies (e.g., GAI) that promote student learning in higher education settings.Completion of a doctoral-level program (degree or ABD), with evidence of effective teaching experience in higher education.At least five years of experience in faculty development, with evidence of increasing levels of leadership.Evidence of effectiveness in collaborative workplace settings that engage with faculty as partners in professional development as well as college leadership, with a focus on evidence-based improvement of teaching and learning (e.g., Teaching and Learning Centers).A record of regional/national conference presentations and publications related to emerging technologies in higher education (e.g., GAI-informed pedagogies), including invited keynotes and plenaries.
