General Counsel

Job DescriptionOne of our clients located in Melville is seeking a General Counsel to oversee the compliance and risk management activities and ensure the company’s contracts follow policies and legal guidelines. A successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations and the ability to make prudent legal decisions as well as oversee compliance and establish the prudence of defending lawsuits and prosecuting.Responsibilities:Providing strategic legal guidance and advising executive staff on various matters such as legal rights, and all current and new business process lawsDrafting, reviewing, negotiating, and counselling on a variety of transactions, including software and service agreementsMaintaining knowledge of organizations operations and legal documents to identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate riskConducting legal research and reviewing the company’s litigation strategy pertaining to legal actionsRequirements:A JD and 6+ years of relevant experience in law firms and in-house legal departmentsMember of the New York BarAbility to review NDA’sStrong general counseling experience in corporate business, litigations, and labor lawsHigh degree of professional ethics and integrityExcellent analytical skills as well as verbal and written communication skillsDrive for efficiency in balancing risk management and supporting fast paced growth and innovation
