DescriptionWe are seeking a Part-Time Dentist to work at a county jail(s) in the
Greater Buffalo Area.Correctional dentistry is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for dentists because it allows you to provide patient care without the interference and barriers associated with private practice. This is the perfect opportunity to provide dentistry in a public health setting while improving health outcomes.Responsibilities:
Perform dental services within designated hours of operations.Utilize universal precautions for patient dental care.Exam, diagnose, and treat patients consistent with professional standards and defined scope of service.Document patients’ needs for every dental encounter utilizing the SOAP format, update the patient health history, and obtain patient consent prior to delivering care.Keep patient information confidential and respect patients' rights to privacy, in accordance with accepted confidentiality practices for incarcerated individuals.Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of Dentistry Medicine (DDS/DMD)Experienced clinician preferredRecent graduates encouraged to applyOne (1) year of experience in oral surgery preferredActive and unrestricted State Dental LicenseExcellent organizational skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsGreat interpersonal skillsIf you are made a conditional offer of employment, you will be required to undergo a background check (including criminal record check) and drug screening.
