Cost Accountant

General Summary :The Cost Accountant monitors all Flambeau locations and is responsible for reviewing quotes prepared by others and the development and analysis of labor and overhead rates by plant and work center type. This role frequently interacts with manufacturing leadership, engineering, process managers, and sales. Travel to all facilities each quarter is expected.This position is 100% onsite located in Baraboo, Wisconsin.Essential Duties :Administer an enterprise-wide standard costing methodologyMaintain cost accounting procedures and controls for process costs such as labor, manufacturing, material handling/storage, administrationDevelop and maintain standard labor and overhead ratesReview estimating process to ensure accurate costing is applied and achieved in manufacturingEvaluate work order variances and follow up on excessive variancesProvide recommendations to, and coordinate with, Engineering to promote standard cost accuracyProactively identify major omissions and errors in cost/BOM informationPrepare audit reports and present findings to managementMonitor and review ECOs, respond to costing issuesDevelop operational reports and analysis to identify opportunities for improvementRecommend changes to company processes/policies to reduce cost and maximize profitabilityContribute toward month end close activitiesEducation/Certification Requirements :Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceExperience & Skill Requirements :Three (3) years of experience with manufacturing costing systemsAdvanced knowledge of ERP software, Delmia is a plusPower BI (read/write) is a plusAnalytical, detail-oriented, approachableAssess business processes, research related costs, and calculate cost to manufacturerAbility to interact effectively with all levelsAdvanced knowledge and use of Excel
