Department Information

At CSU Pueblo, the Information Technology team is a crucial part of the Colorado State University System, which encompasses CSU Fort Collins, CSU Pueblo, and CSU Spur. By working closely with university stakeholders and collaborating with IT teams across the CSU System, the Information Technology team located in Pueblo contributes to the system's goals of innovation and excellence, fostering a dynamic and effective IT environment on campus.

The Classroom Support & Media Services team is an integral part of the Academic Technology department within the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). At the heart of our mission lies a strong commitment to supporting and enriching the teaching and learning experience.

As specialists in audio-visual technology integration and media support, our team plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation, ongoing support, and continuous innovation of equipment and resources utilized in general assignment classrooms and various academic spaces.

We actively engage with them to provide technical assistance, deliver effective audio-visual solutions, and create an environment that optimizes the overall educational experience. Description of Job

The AV Technician works closely with the Classroom Support Services team to install, maintain, and support CSU's classroom environment.

This position is responsible for audiovisual (A/V) equipment installation, software installation, validation of custom control systems, repair of instructional technology equipment, and related electronic equipment located in University facilities. The results of such decisions serve to preserve the reliability of technology campus-wide.

A pre-employment criminal background check is required.

Required job qualifications:Two-year degree in a field related to electronics, computer technology, engineering, or other fields requiring electronic communication equipment. Candidates with a High School Diploma (or GED) and equivalent (2 years) related professional experience will be considered for employment (without the required other post-secondary education).Knowledge in troubleshooting, installing, and configuring AV systems such as projectors, PTZ cameras, document cameras, microphone/sound systems, touch screen technologyAbility to operate a PC to communicate, access files and update AV softwareAbility to use tools for systems installations (drills, saws, test equipment).Must be able to meet the physical demands of job which include, but not limited to, ability to lift 50 pounds, climb, crawl, stoop, lay down, extensive walking, use power tools, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, etc.Preferred job qualifications:

Four-year degree in a field related to electronics, computer technology, engineering, or other fields requiring electronic communication equipmentIndustry certifications related to electronics and/or AV equipment.Technical expertise in video capture systems and streaming technologiesAbility to work independently and make decisions within a defined protocolExcellent verbal and written communication and customer service skillsCSU is committed to full inclusion of qualified individuals.
