POSITION PURPOSE AND EXPECTATION:
We have an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounting team.
This role will provide support to the wider Finance team by helping to prepare store bank reconciliations, Retail Operations reporting and month-end journals.
Assistant Accountants are also a key member of the finance team who are responsible for the finalisation of month-end and year-end accounts.
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:
Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of:
Daily Bank Functions & reporting
Daily Bank reconciliations for stores
Weekly Cash variance & missed bank reporting
Variance investigations working with Loss Prevention team
Weekly Petty Cash expenditure reporting
Weekly upload of bank statement into Oracle
Weekly AP payment reconciliations in Oracle
Monthly Gift voucher liability reconciliations and reporting
Month-end functions & reporting
Monthly Bank account and Balance Sheet reconciliations
Monthly till difference journals
Monthly cash-in-transit reconciliations and accounting
Monthly Cash Clearing account reconciliations
Monthly Centre Voucher liability reconciliations
Monthly Turnover reporting
Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor's degree with Accounting major
Excellent oral and written communication
Oracle Fusion experience
A capacity and desire to be agile in a fast paced environment
A growth mindset in all you do
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Office products
