Accounts Payable/Receivable Associate

CFS has partnered with an education testing service located in Tarrytown, NY who are currently seeking an entry-level Accounts Payable/Receivable Associate to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will support both accounts payable and receivable functions and assist with various administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Duties:

  • Generate and send out invoices and credit memos to customers twice monthly.
  • Follow up on, collect, and apply payments daily (cash, checks, credit cards).
  • Manage customer deposits, perform account reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and manage customer statements and aging reports.
  • Process refunds for B2C via PayPal.

Accounts Payable Duties:

  • Process vendor invoices and verify accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment.
  • Schedule and prepare payments via checks, wire transfers, and ACH twice monthly.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in onboarding new vendors and manage vendor relations.
  • Assist in the preparation of 1099s at year-end.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
  • Help maintain accurate and organized financial records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in accounts payable/receivable or a related field is a plus but not required for entry-level applicants.
  • Skills:
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
