The Special Collections Team Lead: Oversees all special donations functions, adverse events, reporting positive tests, and therapeutic phlebotomy. Acts as team lead in center, assisting with registration, screening and drawing blood donors as needed. Ability to assist as Team Leader in Dayton donor room as needed, meeting all Team Leader job requirements. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Collection Services with blood donors, or other position requiring discrete communications with customers in a regulatory environment. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification. Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions. Must be guided by the highest level of integrity and people-centered care. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Word and Excel. Proficiency using the Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS) within an agreed upon time. Extensive periods of donor/patient interaction, interaction with physician offices. Must be able to lift or carry up to 60 pounds without assistance. Requires standing for long periods of time during phlebotomy, heat sealing, and apheresis procedures. Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation. About Solvita We began in Dayton in 1964 as the region's first centralized blood bank. Solvita collects and provides all blood products for hospitals in our 15-county region and beyond. The tissue bank was born in 1986 and is now one of the nation's largest tissue banks.
