Job Summary

Working as part of an integrated cross-functional team, Business Intelligence (BI) Senior Analysts are experts at turning data into information and knowledge, understanding how that information/knowledge supports and enables key business processes, and communicating those insights for maximum business impact. BI Senior Analysts contribute to the business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs of the organization. It is essential that BI Senior Analysts build an understanding of the business at a level of detail that enables them to identify and address critical issues. They provide data that is accurate, congruent, and reliable, and ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. BI Senior Analysts educate and train customers to use data as an analytical tool. BI Senior Analysts work with customers to determine business requirements, priorities, and define key performance indicators (KPI). This includes working with business or clinical teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, reports, or applications. This role is accountable for facilitating information gathering, structured documentation, and presenting findings. BI Senior Analysts must have an in-depth understanding of the business environment and an interest in going beyond the obvious, delving into the source, creating information, finding insights, and turning those insights into a story to drive impact and better decision-making. They must work well within a team environment, and mentor and support less skilled BI Analysts on the team.Essential Functions

Provides clear, insightful analysis that tells a story and helps leaders make better decisions, using a variety of communication methods (PowerPoint, Word Documents, Dashboards, etc.). Provides visual design expertise and thought leadership to create easy-to-understand reports and dashboards that deliver insights.Analyzes, designs, codes, configures, tests, debugs, deploys, documents, and maintains self-service reporting assets and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) for the purpose of populating data warehouse assets and sending data outside of data warehouse assets.Gathers and documents business program needs and translates them into a technical solution using visuals and creating data sources, metrics, and automation. Visuals, data sources, and automation will be created by using reporting tools and databases. Presents that technical solution to key stakeholders.Works with internal/external team(s) to define necessary information and create information solutions based on business, clinical, or project requirements needed to drive improvement in support of business strategies.Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for data accuracy, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency; participates in discovery sessions with operational leadership to find data discrepancies and identify issues. Engages in process and quality improvement activities, including working with the Data Governance team to optimize data quality and transparency.Drives and engages others with process and quality improvement activities.Participates in Agile ceremonies determining the nature and scope of project activities and processes to be developed or modified, working across teams to communicate development dependencies to accomplish a final solution.Performs job-related duties in conformance with DS standards and initiates and leads team through new/improved standards. Coaches less experienced Business Intelligence Analysts.Provides analytics that can turn data into critical information in understanding a systemic business need.Performs standard data analysis such as trend analysis and correlation to effectively interpret data, and reviews multiple data sets looking at correlating factors and relationships between data. Translation of business requests into broad, or long-term information that guides business decisions for future growth.Independently able to provide troubleshooting, maintenance, support, oversight, and technical guidance to other team members.Possesses knowledge of workflows in multiple business areas to support data development, analytics, and quality improvement activities. Guides less experienced Business Intelligence Developers in gaining workflow knowledge.Works with data architects as the architect designs relational and dimensional data models to verify that the model meets the use cases and aligns with strategic direction.Helps lead projects with varying levels of complexity to deliver coherent integrated technical solutions.Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in business, liberal arts, computer science, application programming, software development, information systems, database administration, mathematics, engineering, or other related field required.5 years of relevant experience required.Ideal candidate will possess Pharmacy and/or Business Intelligence experience.Ideal candidate will have experience directly supporting one of or multiple of the following lines of business either for a Non-Profit or For-Profit entity:- Retail Pharmacy- Specialty Pharmacy- Home InfusionAnalytics experience is a plus, but would prioritize operational experience in these spaces more.Advanced analytics experience while appreciated, is not absolutely necessary for this role, proficiency in Excel would be enough.Self-starter as this function will be relatively new; it will require someone being able to build relationships quickly as this individual will need to partner closely with operational and business unit leaders over these spaces to develop reporting and to identify business improvement opportunities.Physical Demands
