Join a collegial practice with a dedicated group of 14 physicians and 8 APPs. This position requires an Infectious Diseases Physician, who has clinical expertise and has completed extra training or sub-specialization in Transplant Infectious Disease. In addition to performing inpatient and outpatient general infectious disease consultations, the physician is expected to see outpatient and inpatient transplant recipients and candidates. The physician will be rotating on General ID, Transplant ID, and Academic Services.
Patient populations treated: Lung Transplants, Heart Transplants, and Kidney Living Donors.
We have completed over 250 heart transplants, nearly 400 lung transplants, over 500 LVAD implants, and over 100 pediatric kidney transplants.
We care for over 700 patients living in our community.
The transplant team consists of multi-disciplinary team members including social workers, financial coordinators, a psychologist, RN coordinators, dieticians, pharmacy tech and pharmacists, surgeons, a variety of specialized physicians, APPs, and respiratory therapists.
Qualifications
Medical degree (MD or DO)
Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Fellowship Trained in Infectious Disease
Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Michigan

Preferred Qualifications
Physician should have experience managing solid organ transplant recipients including but not limited to heart, lung, and kidney transplant recipients, in addition to management of Ventricular Assist Device Related Infections.
