Highly responsible professional, supervisory and technical work in developing and implementing administrative structure and policies for a bureau or the Director of the Finance Department; and related work as required.A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university

OR

a Bachelor's Degree in any field with at least twenty-four (24) semester hours of accounting and/or finance coursework. Credit will only be given for semester hours listed on college transcript with an accounting or finance course prefix.Five (5) years of full time professional experience providing professional accounting, collections of accounts, financial or budget management services. One (1) of which must have included the supervision of a professional staff. Professional experience must have been earned in a position that required a bachelor's degree upon entrance.

A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. The City of New Orleans has a comprehensive program of substance abuse testing. Candidates for employment for certain positions where the health, welfare and/or safety of the public, co-workers and the individual employee is at risk will have to undergo pre-employment substance abuse screening.A MEDICAL EXAMINATION

is required for all original entrance probationary appointments to ACTIVE classifications, and may be required for re-employment, promotions and/or transfers.GOOD MORAL CHARACTER

is required of all applicants.
