What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for a team of internal and external engineering project management, construction, and industry trade partners to deliver a portfolio of capital projects at the Amgen North Carolina Campus. May serve as the project manager for business-critical projects.

Establishing safety culture and demonstrating safety by example

Selecting and retaining high performing project management and execution professionals

Determining project objectives, consistent with company priorities and policies

Supporting project teams through design, procurement, construction, and Commissioning & Qualification

Preparing project funding documents with scope, cash flow, schedule, and deliverables

Leading contract partner evaluation and selection process

Reviewing and approving cost estimates and establishing check and balance system

Integrating complete team into planning and design reviews for projects

Establishing policies for major projects, interpreting, executing, and recommending modifications to company-wide policies

What we expect of you

The Senior Manager professional we seek is a collaborative partner with these qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR

Master’s degree and 6 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience OR

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the application of project management skills and concepts with an understanding of related engineering subject areas

Leadership experience with a team with varied strengths of technical engineering and facilities management in the Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industries

Demonstrate practical resourcefulness with the ability to problem solve using practical solutions

Possesses interpersonal skills to work with technical scientific and management internal user groups

Ability to prioritize tasks and conflicting priorities across a broad range of facilities and engineering subject areas

Excellent communication skills featuring a demonstrated supervisory style that fits within the Amgen culture and values

Strong analytical skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Ability to considerately negotiate and positively influence peers and executive leadership

Effective oral, visual and written communication skills with the ability to listen optimally

Resilience and flexibility with the ability to react to changes quickly

Salary Range:

153,384.00 USD - 191,636.00 USD
