In this vital role you will be responsible for a team of internal and external engineering project management, construction, and industry trade partners to deliver a portfolio of capital projects at the Amgen North Carolina Campus. May serve as the project manager for business-critical projects.Establishing safety culture and demonstrating safety by exampleSelecting and retaining high performing project management and execution professionalsDetermining project objectives, consistent with company priorities and policiesSupporting project teams through design, procurement, construction, and Commissioning & QualificationPreparing project funding documents with scope, cash flow, schedule, and deliverablesLeading contract partner evaluation and selection processReviewing and approving cost estimates and establishing check and balance system.Integrating complete team into planning and design reviews for projectsEstablishes policies for major projects, interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to company-wide policies.Win

The Senior Manager professional we seek is a collaborative partner with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience ORAssociate’s degree and 10 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience ORBachelor’s degree and 8 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience ORMaster’s degree and 6 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experience ORDoctorate degree and 2 years of Engineering and/or Project Management experienceIn addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced abovePreferred Qualifications:Experience in the application of project management skills and concepts with an understanding of related engineering subject areasLeadership experience with a team with varied strengths of technical engineering and facilities management with an organization in the Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology industriesDemonstrate practical resourcefulness with the ability to problem solve using practical solutionsPossesses interpersonal skills to work with technical scientific and management internal user groupsAbility to prioritize tasks and conflicting priorities across a broad range of facilities and engineering subject areasExcellent communication skills featuring a demonstrated supervisory style that fits within the Amgen culture and valuesStrong analytical skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyAbility to considerately negotiate and positively influence peers and executive leadershipEffective oral, visual and written communication skills with the ability to listen optimallyResilience and flexibility with the ability to react to changes quickly, and the ability to apply knowledge to new problems and new contextsThrive
