Shipping Planner

MATHESON is one of the nation's leading suppliers of industrial gases and welding equipment. MATHESON is seeking a Shipping Planner for Palm, PA. Job duties will be as follows:Safety:Keeps work area clean and orderly. Follows all company Safety procedures and policies.Ensures all shipping documentation accurately describes all hazardous material, packages and volumes.Is thoroughly familiar with the D.O.T. regulations pertaining to the safe transportation and handling of hazardous materials.Office:Admits and greets visitors.Maintains the purchase order system.Processes invoices for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.Maintains office supplies and leads the 5S effort in the office.Coordinates work of service providers with the office and facility staff.Maintains the office filing system.Provides computer and software training to plant personnel as required.Completes various forms of data entry and data processing.Production:Notifies common carrier dispatch offices for daily truck requirements.Accurately generates and/or completes required documentation including bill of lading and sales order shipment entry in Avante.Enters shipments in Avante/ERP and provides proper freight charges and PRO numbers.Prepares all export documentation according to pertinent DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations.Notifies freight forwarders when an order is ready to ship. Completes any extra requirements they may have.Completes all local order invoicing for Accounts Receivable.Prepares all documentation for the Matheson inter-branch trucks.Corrects Avante/CRM data when shipping complications arise.Orders all shipping supplies as needed.Performs all other functions as assigned by plant management.Quality:Adheres to all Quality assurance policies and standards.Participates in CAR and MRB/DRB investigations as required by Matheson's Quality Management System.Requirements:Junior College Degree minimum, preferably in a physical science.Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.DOT HazMat, IMDG and IATA certifications preferred.A certification training program is offered, and the applicant must pass the program.Prior HazMat shipping experience is preferred.MATHESON is an Equal Opportunity Employer that complies with the laws and regulations set forth under EEOC.
