Position Summary:

The Plant Manager will report to the VP of Manufacturing and will be responsible for leading and managing all Conversion, Quality, Maintenance and Distribution processes within the Plant in order to achieve required production volume in compliance with quality standards and in accordance with the KPIs.

What You'll Do:

Safety, Regulatory and Compliance:

Ensures that GMPs, behaviors, practices and the work environment support a safe workplace by enforcing safety and sanitary rules and principles

Manage all procedures in respect to Welch's role within the community (i.e. safety & environmental regulations, plant security and environmental policies)

Leadership and Employee Development:

Lead, motivate, and build a collaborative team environment, by conveying and driving a compelling vision, focused on a continuously improving culture & plant operation

Assess teams' capabilities with a focus on developing skillsets as well as identifying and closing gaps in current skills through the development of Individual Development Plans

Drives a collaborative culture through employee engagement strategies and formal communication plans

Ensures succession plans are in place for critical roles, as well as identify and develop top talent

Promote a culture of accountability and teamwork within the plant

Continuous Improvement:

Communicate and champion the goals, KPI's, and strategies to team members and other internal/external stakeholders

Drive improvements and optimize operations using lean methods

Coach leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the High Performance Work System techniques and processes

Ensure a 0 waste and 0 loss mindset throughout the facility

Financial Planning and Organizing:

Collaborate with plant leadership team and Finance to develop annual operating plans, manage budget, optimize cash flow, set priorities, and identify financial trends/gaps with strategic plans to close gaps and meet goals

Plant and optimize resources to ensure ongoing execution of site plans across the entire site

Manage the achievement of key performance indicators by tracking results versus targets for safety, quality, labor efficiency, customer satisfaction, cost/case, productivity, and cost contribution management.

Customer and Stakeholder Relationships:

Develop and strengthen customer relationships by collaborating on opportunities to address issues and to improve service levels

Leverage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to drive execution of revenue/cost strategies

Partner with customers to plan for and address product, quality, and service requirements and collaborate on service improvement opportunities

Who You Are:

Expertise in overseeing manufacturing operations, including production planning/scheduling, line setup and change out, production control, and production optimization

Expertise in manufacturing standards and metrics (e.g., KPIs) for safety, quality, production, labor and material variances

Collaborative leader with a focus on employee relations and retention; establishes a culture of accountability through individual and team metrics

Expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management

Demonstrated track record of driving positive change through application of lean manufacturing concepts

End to end manufacturing expertise, including technical maintenance / engineering programs, materials management, inventory control, and logistics

Experience managing capital improvement initiatives and expansion plans during ongoing operation

Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences

Proactive with ability to motivate themself and others; a natural bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity

Experience building, developing, engaging and overseeing high-performing manufacturing teams

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related major is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience that proves ability to perform role may be considered.

10+ years of experience in FDA or other highly-regulated manufacturing environment required. Food and/or Beverage industry experience highly preferred

Prior plant management or senior production operations management role required

Experience working with Continuous Improvement/Lean methods and tools (Six Sigma, TPM, 5s)

Compensation range: $140,000 - $170,000 + bonus

This compensation range is an estimate of the position's typical compensation range. Offers will be made at values based on individuals' experience, skills, educations, and abilities as well as both internal and external benchmarks. We also offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being.
