This individual serves as part of the first line of defense, with the coverage team, in identifying and mitigating risk in existing and proposed credit products transactions.Primary ResponsibilitiesMaintains market knowledge of loan pricing, structural trends and understands how they align or differ from Regions’ risk profileJointly calls with coverage bankers to understand clients’ needs and business strategy around the real estate portfolio, assets with financing opportunities as well as cross-sell of treasury or capital markets productsCollaborates with coverage bankers to develop strategies to deliver credit solutions that can best meet client needs and identifies actionable ideas that can help achieve their goalsLeads the credit process on credit opportunities including structuring, underwriting, loan documentation/negotiation and closingServes as primary contact with Credit Risk and presents loan request for approval and/or modificationsServes as the point person of the deal team during the closing process, partnering with a coverage banker, fulfillment, CLA (if construction loan), internal or external legal, client and others as necessaryOversees all Credit Servicing activities of the portfolio to ensure servicing requirements are satisfied on a quarterly basis, including proactive identification and elevation of emerging risks and early warning indicatorsSupports the coverage banker around client selectivity that meets Regions’ risk profileIdentifies opportunities for exposure reduction, process improvement, or new opportunities within assigned portfolio in collaboration with the coverage bankerWorks with Analysts and Associates to address any issues that become apparent during loan servicing and monitoring activities and takes lead if significant modification or restructure is requiredAssists in training Analysts and Associates that support the portfolio and takes responsibility for the overall quality of the teams’ work productCoaches, mentors, and helps direct work for Credit Products Analysts and AssociatesThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.This position is incentive eligible.RequirementsBachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Real Estate, Accounting, or FinanceSeven (7) years of real estate underwriting, financial analysis, and portfolio management experienceCompletion of a corporate credit training program (or equivalent corporate banking/finance or real estate experience)Strong understanding of loan structuring needs, loan documentation requirements and market knowledgePrevious financial analysis experienceRelationship management experience either as a coverage banker or as a client facing member of relationship teamLegal documentation experienceAbility to structure real estate loans with strong market knowledgeSkills and CompetenciesAbility to identify issues and recommend well thought out solutions to deal team, approvers, and clientsAbility to independently complete or review for accuracy and completion credit underwriting packages, supporting tools, Risk Rating Grades, Credit Agreements, and other loan documentationDemonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skillsDemonstrates strong verbal and written communication skillsRecognized for quality of analysis and competency of completion in and oversight of portfolio management activitiesSelf-initiates and leads credit discussionsWell organized, detail-oriented, able to manage and lead multiple projects under pressureWorks collaboratively with multiple stakeholdersThis position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.Compensation DetailsPay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role.Job Range Target:Minimum:
