About the Opportunity:

McFarland Johnson is looking for a dynamic and experienced

Senior Aviation Planner / Project Manager

to join our rapidly expanding airport and aviation consulting practice in the Southeast. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional with the ability to independently lead and manage multiple aviation assignments and technical staff. MJ is recognized for its innovation and client-focused services, offering a unique environment where employee-owners are empowered to deliver quality solutions. Preference for this role is given to candidates in

Melbourne, FL

but other possible office location options include

Hollywood, FL, Greenville, SC, or Raleigh, NC .

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage technical aviation planning assignments, including airport master plans, feasibility studies, environmental studies, AutoCAD drawing development (GIS experience is a plus), and airport layout plan set development (Transoft AviPlan modeling is a plus)

Collaborate with airport sponsors on day-to-day operational and/or planning issues.

Manage project tasks, schedules, and budgets.

Identify and evaluate regulatory agency (FAA and FDOT) requirements for airport operations and development.

Develop project scopes and budgets, experience in preparation of project definition documents desired

Assist with aviation planning group southeast business development

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Aviation Management, or a related field.

5 ? 10 years of progressive planning experience.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with AutoCAD, GIS, and AviPlan preferred.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Possession of an industry-appropriate certification, professional license, or pilot's license is a plus.
