SummaryThis Lead Project Manager is responsible for leading high-visibility and complex programs, projects, and/or strategic process development and execution. A Lead Project Manager is also responsible for executing project management activities. Other responsibilities include representing program/project management functions for assigned activities to internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leads, directs, influences, and exercises extensive program/project knowledge and expertise to evaluate and resolve significant issues.

Negotiates, evaluates, determines and executes department specific projects and program management activities to manage one or more significant, complex program or components.

Leads multiple aspects of financial planning, monitoring, reporting, scheduling, network analysis, and preparation of technical/schedule information required for program/project planning.

Serves as primary point of contact and administrative/logistical liaison role with customers and partners.

Integrates customer needs with business competencies to drive growth in both existing and emerging markets. Participates in strategic and market planning.

Leads teams and matrix reports to manage day-to-day program requirements. May assist the selection and development of program/project employees.

Provides program/project management guidance for functional/divisional project leads while ensuring that projects are prioritized and managed to a successful completion.

Provides expertise for execution of program/project training and development across the organization and, potentially, across elements of the NSE.

You Must Have

Ability to travel as per business needs.

Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.

7+ years of experience in key engineering, manufacturing, and/or program/project management roles.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Scientific, or Business-related field.

United States Citizenship

Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

Demonstrates broad knowledge of project and program processes and principles.

Demonstrates expertise in estimation methods, critical path analysis, and contemporary program management trends and practices.

Demonstrates high-level proficiency in integrating multiple, complex business and project/program processes.

Possesses effective communication, interactive presentations, and negotiation skills.

Acts as a mentor, coach, and leads program/project management personnel and other staff in a matrixed management environment.

Possesses Project Management Institute (PMI) and Agile certifications.

Demonstrates experience in Excellence in Project Management (EIPM) and Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS)

Experience in the development of a project from mission needs to functional requirements

Ability to translate manufacturing mission requirements into a built environment solution

Accustomed to working with unknowns, gray areas and shifting directions

Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills
