Job Title: Energy Efficiency Professionals/Energy EngineersTetra Tech Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Energy Efficiency Professionals/Energy Engineers to work on site as Resource Efficiency Managers (REMs). Join our overseas REM team to support energy conservation and resilience improvements for U.S. Marine Corps facilities in Japan and South Korea. We are seeking a creative problem solver to deliver energy savings, reduce carbon-based fuel usage, and increase resilience.
Your RoleYou will work on site at the customer’s facilities to provide comprehensive energy management services. You can be based in:
Okinawa
Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni
Camp Fuji in Japan
Camp Mujuk in South Korea
Travel may be required to support other U.S. Marine Corps facilities in Japan. You will identify energy conservation opportunities and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand, save money, and help the environment.
Primary DutiesPrimary duties will focus on energy management, including program management services, but work will also include:
Developing energy efficiency improvements for facilities
Walking facilities daily to conduct energy audits, identify energy conservation opportunities, and develop projects
Developing distributed generation opportunities
Developing renewable energy projects
Providing energy training
Performing design reviews
Analyzing energy and utilities data
Recommending improvements to energy and utility procurement
Recommending operations and maintenance improvements
Writing technically sound audit and other reports
Supporting implementation of energy projects
Working both independently and collaboratively with the Navy client and partner REMs
Other related duties
QualificationsThe REM is required to have 5 to 12 plus years of experience in energy management or energy engineering. Strong HVAC background and experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, direct digital controls, commissioning, microgrid planning, performance contracting, and building/system optimization is desired.
Required SkillsThe position requires:
Knowledge of utility information systems, energy management technologies, and metering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to produce results
Ability to produce technically correct finished work, including technical reports, white papers, metrics, and briefs
Proficient computer skills, including the use of spreadsheets, especially MS Excel, and other database applications
BS in engineering or energy-related field is required, but military or civilian experience working at ANG or Air Force bases or other Federal installations, or experience in energy-related field may be acceptable.
Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is required or must be able to obtain within 1 year.
U.S. citizenship is required, and you must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to speak Japanese or Korean is a plus.

The work environment will consist of an office environment, as well as frequent field visits in and around various client facility sites. You must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree, such as walking 3 to 6 miles in a few hours.
