Governance and Expert Support Scientist

Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking an experienced Scientist for Governance and Support. The Scientist will lead the Program's governance effort, requiring an understanding of the objectives of the Civil Servants and translating that into an action plan that implements the desired goals. This will involve generating documentation and presenting the plan to those who will need to support implementation in their own area. In addition to governance, other duties related to the Program will be required. This is a rewarding opportunity to support NASA's critical work in Earth observation data.Required Qualifications:PhD and 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.Extensive experience with NASA's Earth science data.Proven experience supporting data governance related duties in the domain of Earth science data.Strong verbal and written communication skills.US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.The successful candidate must also be eligible for unescorted access to NASA facilities.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
