Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience.We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to all our employees at the University.Job SummaryThe Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising supervises all aspects of the advising process for all prospective and current Nursing and Health students in the online and on-campus undergraduate programs in nursing. Manager of a large team of student advisors, facilitating successful advisor/student engagement.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupervises undergraduate level academic advisors for the College of Nursing and Health Innovation.Coordinates the work of advisors, conducts staff meetings, and provides staff development opportunities, as well as performance related activities.Reviews and updates all marketing and student-related admission/advisement materials.Collaborates with Director and Executive Director of OESS to resolve student issues that are beyond the scope of academic advisors.Resource and back-up to advisor responsibilities during peak times.Represents the undergraduate level programs within the College of Nursing and Health Innovation.Continue professional development to refine skillset to understand best practices with the student services field.Other student-related duties as assigned by Director and Executive Director.Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree with two (2) years of experience in a related field (working with college-level students).Two (2) years of supervisory experience.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree with four (4) years of experience in advising/or related field.Experience with PeopleSoft (MyMav) or other university student information management system.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesHigh impact academic advising practices.Knowledge of CAS standards.Knowledge of University academic advising practices.Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies and procedures governing academic advising functions.Knowledge of probation, dismissal, and reinstatement procedures.Knowledge of college/school major and degree requirements and resources provided by academic advising associations such as NACADA and TEXAAN.Knowledge and ability to utilize the University Catalog is essential.Professional computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office.Tact, diplomacy and judgment in dealing with students, faculty and administrators.Other RequirementsWorking ConditionsSpecial Conditions for EligibilitySpecial job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.CBC RequirementIt is the policy of The University of Texas at Arlington to conduct a criminal background check on any applicant who is under final consideration for employment with the University.EEO StatementIt is the policy of The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA or The University) to provide an educational and working environment that provides equal opportunity to all members of the University community.ADA AccommodationsThe University of Texas at Arlington is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.Documents Needed To ApplyResume or CVCover/Interest LetterTranscripts
