The University is committed to providing access and ensuring student success, and to a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization of discoveries by our community of scholars.Job SummaryAssists the Director or other appropriate administrator in the management of one or more aspects of facilities operations including carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, underground infrastructure, grounds/landscape, etc. This position is responsible for creating documents for purchases, identifying scopes of work, inspecting projects for completion, and working with faculty and staff to identify project specifications.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the management of employees who perform maintenance, renovations, or direct services to university grounds, infrastructure, facilities, and equipment.Serves on the management team with the Director including to participate in the strategic planning for assigned areas and assists the Director in developing and implementing the overall departmental strategic plan.Identifies and tracks deferred maintenance, plans for equipment renewal, performs life-cycle evaluation, and asset management.Establishes Work Order (WO) performance goals, measures to evaluate WO success, performs review process of WO performed, and documents improvement process/recognition process for WO completed.Prepares documentation related to purchasing and projects; recommends and supervises vendors’ project work as assigned.Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance, repairs and renovations comply with university, state, and federal regulations.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience.Minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience in facilities management.Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.Must be physically able to complete all physical tasks as needed.Must have a Class C Texas Operators Driver’s License.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree.Experience in:

The TMA work order system.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.E-Builder Software.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and in a team environment as well as independently when needed.Experience in Facilities Management within Higher Education.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExtensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing and electrical.Knowledge of all phases of building construction and renovations.Knowledge of different paint types and installation methods.Knowledge of roof maintenance and repairs including replacements.Knowledge of landscape design and grounds maintenance.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to contribute to OFM strategic planning.Ability to plan renovations and maintenance schedules (including budgets).Professional supervisory and leadership skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.Knowledge in ADA code compliance.Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.Other RequirementsWorking ConditionsMust be physically able to perform repairs when needed.Personal protection equipment (furnished).Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.May be required to work around chemical fumes and hazardous materials (safety regulations must be followed).May work around electrical and mechanical hazards.Driving.Special Conditions for EligibilityCBC Requirement:
