Regional Beef Sales Manager

ST is looking for a Regional Beef Manager that will provide sales leadership, coaching, and communication in a given sales area by building relationships and generating and executing sales objectives for an assigned area of responsibility.

Region of coverage includes but is not limited to: ND, SD, IA, MO, WI, MN, Eastern KS.

ST through the experience of its staff specializes in helping find quality livestock, semen, and embryos for placement domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities and Duties

Create and implement effective area sales strategies; work with sales personnel to achieve sales objectives.

Drive profitable growth within assigned area where a lead role is required by calling on prospects and customers and manage the distribution of assigning those accounts to sales personnel in your area.

Responsibility for proper implementation of all programs and policies including the promotion of the Young Sire Program and follow-up on conception, calving and weights of progeny within the participants’ herds.

Work with the Director of Beef Marketing in the hiring, orientation, training and development of sales staff for your area.

Work with your Independent Sales Representatives in developing their business by understanding their expectations and help them achieve their business goals and objectives.

Develop and analyze market reports as well as assist with regional advertising and promotional programs to assure participation and sales growth.

Help develop the sales vision and plans for the area.

Achieve area sales volumes and profitability as set by the budget.

Monitor and review Profit and Lost statements to ensure the profitability of each salesperson is met. Identify problem areas and implement strategies for improvement.

Monitor inventories and assist with inventories of sales personnel.

Create and foster an environment of motivation, inspiration and accountability for sales staff in the area.

Maintain accounts receivable at company standards.

Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback of your personnel to assure that company objectives as well as personal growth objectives are being obtained.

Implements trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending in area.

Follow procedures for approval of personnel expense reports.

Promote the enhancement of the company’s image through educational meetings, public relations, tradeshows, customer meetings, etc.

Participate as a member of the Sire Acquisition committee under the direction of the Director of Beef Genetics.

Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the Director of Beef Marketing.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness or related degree.

2-5 years of sales and people management experience.

Communication and interpersonal proficiency.

Business acumen.

Ability to motivate and lead a team.

Strategic planning ability.

Self-motivated.
