This document outlines the terms of reference for the position of Manager, Global Accounting at iMMAP, Inc., providing an overview of responsibilities and expectations in managing the financial activities and ensuring compliance with established financial regulations and guidelines.The Manager, Global Accounting plays a critical role in ensuring that iMMAP's financial operations are conducted in compliance with financial regulations, resulting in accurate financial reporting and responsible financial management.Position Objective

The Manager, Global Accounting is responsible for leading the global accounting operations of iMMAP, ensuring accurate accounting, adherence to regulatory requirements, and effective internal controls.Key Responsibilities

Advise and support the Finance Director by bringing strategy and skill at the process and program level.Articulate and provide technical input on updates to policies, procedures, processes and protocols (4Ps) with a natural ability to think, create, and execute changes effectively.Identify problems, distill complex concepts, and bring plans and ideas for solutions.Prioritize time based on risk management, ensuring a proactive approach to potential accounting and financial challenges.Communicate financial information compellingly and clearly to all constituencies.Accounting:Lead all accounting activities including financial closes, reporting, payroll, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), revenue recognition, and accruals.Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies procedures, processes and protocols to ensure timely and accurate interim and year-end financial statements and forecasts.Maintain General Ledger accounts, review journal entries, and lead the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.Assess business risks and optimize effectiveness through a strong internal control environment, ensuring conformity to GAAP and other relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.Manage the process of allocations/assessments and support in the administration of benefit plans.Audit and Compliance:Coordinate the preparations for annual IRS filings and state tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local reporting standards.Coordinate audit preparations, ensuring compliance with financial policies, adoption of best practices, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.Support the Finance Director in calculation and forecast of the indirect cost rate and NICRA submissions.Monitor the use of lines of credit and credit cards and communicate risk to Finance Director to ensure the organization has the necessary resources for day-to-day operations.Financial Statements and Reporting:Support the Finance Director in the consolidation and preparation of financial reports, including materials for the board of directors and committee meetings.Supervision and Mentoring:Supervise the HQ Accountant, ensuring his/her work is accurate and compliant with financial regulations.Coach, mentor, and effectively manage staff by providing regular feedback, setting and measuring annual goals, and completing regular performance evaluations.Foster a learning culture by encouraging dialogue and reflection before and after major projects.Compliance and Regulations:Review financial information and internal controls to ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), CAS and Uniform Guidance.Ensure adherence to financial regulations, including 2 CFR Uniform Guidance 200, FAR, USAID ADS, and AIDAR, and other iMMAP project donors/clients.Payroll and Project Accounting:Oversee the payroll reconciliations, including journal entries and related worksheets.Assist in the management of contract and grant administration for complex portfolios, including Federal Government grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts, as needed.Review and post vendor invoices for assigned projects.Ensure accurate coding and compliance with iMMAP's financial processes.Cash Management:Lead cash flows, revenue, and payables process.Maintain cash, bank statements, and oversee timely and accurate reconciliations for field offices monthly accounting.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records, supporting documentation, and internal controls for financial transactions.Ensure that iMMAP's financial activities are properly documented and archived.Management & Partnership:Partner closely with the Finance Director to design the best finance team for evolving needs.Equip and develop team skills to meet the evolving needs of the organization.Support and champion organizational DEI goals.Knowledge Management and Learning (KM&L):Actively contribute to effective knowledge management practices and protocols of the Finance Department.Facilitate training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the finance team.Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by encouraging team members to share insights and lessons learned from projects and initiatives.Coordinate and conduct workshops, seminars, and other learning activities to keep the finance team updated on the latest accounting changes and best practices.Other Responsibilities:Assist with system improvements using UNANET to enhance financial management and reporting.Undertake additional financial tasks as required.Reporting Relationships

The Manager, Global Accounting reports to the Finance Director.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in finance or accounting.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification required.5+ years of experience in financial management and accounting.Strong understanding of US GAAP, 2 CFR 200, AIDAR, FAR, and other relevant donor and financial regulations.Experience with audit and tax preparation.Supervisory and manager experience preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team and across diverse cultures.Notice
