A prominent personal injury law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Senior Law & Motion Attorney to join their litigation team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drafting and opposing motions, working closely with trial attorneys, and contributing to case strategies for high-stakes personal injury cases, including wrongful death, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and catastrophic injuries. Duties:
Draft and oppose motions, from simple ex parte applications to complex motions for summary judgment.Collaborate with trial attorneys on motions in limine and overall case strategy.Argue motions and oppositions in court before judges.Conduct legal research on emerging issues of law and cases without clear authority.Meet and confer with defense counsel regarding case developments.Engage in case discussions with experts to develop strategy.Analyze discovery, deposition transcripts, and other records to identify key facts relevant to legal arguments.Requirements:
Active license and good standing with the California State Bar.Superior legal writing skills and the ability to draft clear, persuasive motions.Proficiency in identifying relevant legal authority quickly.In-depth knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.Strong analytical and research skills, particularly in identifying key facts from discovery.Proven success in supporting and opposing dispositive motions.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in the state of California.Skills:
Superior legal research and writing skills.Ability to manage high volumes of legal documents and motions efficiently.Strong courtroom advocacy and litigation support.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with trial attorneys and experts.Critical thinking and analytical skills to address complex legal issues.
