Req #1709Thursday, August 29, 2024Senior Payroll Specialist - Boston, MAGeneral Statement of Duties:The Sr. Payroll Specialist is the sole payroll practitioner at the Company with responsibility for the full payroll cycle, payroll taxes, internal payroll reporting, and required external compliance reporting. To be successful, a candidate should have deep experience in every phase of the payroll process, have prior experience working with multi-state payrolls, non-exempt timekeeping, understand relevant wage and hour laws, provide excellent customer service, be able to work independently, and have strong customer service and communication skills.Supervision Received:

Non-exemptEssential FunctionsManage the end-to-end payroll process for multi-state weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, in keeping with federal and state taxation and wage and hour regulations.Investigate, validate, and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.Process and audit employee changes such as deductions, garnishments, pay rate changes, withholding changes, terminations, etc.Review timecard data for completion and compliance with state and federal regulations, Company work rules and approval standards.Stay updated on the latest payroll and tax regulations and provide recommendations for changes and best practices for company processes.Manage relevant payroll processes, including quarterly adjustments and year-end W2 reports.Manage the garnishment life cycle for all impacted employees following federal & state regulations.Provide information for various audits including but not limited to annual payroll audit and various benefit plan audits.Complete the employee verification process communicating and coordinating with all necessary stakeholders.Run and analyze ad-hoc reporting for system improvement and data accuracy.Run benefit deduction related reports as needed.Interface with benefits administrator to ensure timely and accurate benefit deductions, including benefit arrears calculations.Manage confidential information in a professional manner.Collaborate with colleagues in HR to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of employee data.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKESuccess in this position means the Sr. Payroll Specialist can be relied upon for timely and accurate pay, data reporting and analysis. The Sr. Payroll Specialist communicates effectively with other members of the HR Team and prioritizes assignments.
