The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager for utility scale substation, and transmission & distribution engineering projects. This will be a challenging role in which you will be involved in the engineering and design scope of the project from initiation through close-out. The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, control, and close-out of complex, multi-discipline projects. The successful candidate must have exceptional leadership skills and possess the ability to successfully navigate through and resolve complex and oftentimes multi-functional challenges associated with large projects.What You’ll Do

Provide strategic project management leadership for large and complex engineering projectsResponsible for the overall management of the project scope, schedule and costAccountable for key project decision makingManages a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule and costLead overall project – coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation and negotiationResponsible for leading project meetingsPoint person for contract negotiation and managementAccountable to develop, update and manage the project planCoordinate communication and provides status updates to stakeholders as requiredAssess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plansProactively manages project requests for information and action itemsWork collaboratively with the Project Controls team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to planResponsible for leading projects through all internal and external processesEnsure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the projectProficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to support project scope, schedule and cost objectivesEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of workDemonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skillsConsistently produces results that meet goals, has high work standards, and understands the business environment and processesAchieves results by problem solving, setting priorities and organizationMaintains customer focus to meet or exceed customer expectations and represent Ulteig in a professional and courteous mannerStrives for individual excellence by seeking challenges and self-development, demonstrating high levels of expertise and showing commitment, self-confidence and integrityWhat We Expect From You

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferredPMP Certification Preferred.5 or more years of utility engineering and/or project management experience is preferredExperience in Microsoft Project and/or P6 preferredProven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)Ability to work independentlyDemonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting prioritiesMust be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as requiredAbility to read and understand construction and procurement contractsExcellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagementAbility to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with multiple stakeholdersMust be able to travel to project sites as requiredEnsure adherence to Safety policiesEnsure adherence to client’s Quality Control and Quality Assurance programsReport, track, and resolve non-conformance issues in coordination with QA/QCMust have permanent work authorization for the USWhat You Can Expect From Ulteig

Position Mid-Point of $116,000*The salary displayed represents the middle of a range.
