Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in recreation, public or business administration, or a closely related field.Four years of increasingly responsible administrative facilities, parks, recreation, and trails experience involving budget and program development responsibilities.One year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Skills/Abilities

Plans, organizes, coordinates and evaluates the work of assigned part-time and/or seasonal staff; with direction and guidance from the Facilities, Parks, and Trails Manager, participates in the development of work plans to achieve the division's goals and objectives.Plans and evaluates the performance of assigned part-time and/or seasonal staff; establishes performance requirements and personal development targets; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching.Coordinates and supervises the work of full-time, part-time, and seasonal specialists engaged in the delivery of a very wide variety of programs and services related to outdoor use throughout the City of Corona.Identifies and analyzes facility, parks, and trail needs and plans, implements, and administers programs and services to fulfill those needs; develops, prepares, and distributes advertising and publicity for activities and programs.Specific oversight of the Park Ranger program which is uniquely tasked with education and enforcement elements within the City’s parks and trails system.Oversees and coordinates with staff on use of picnic shelters, sports fields, and other park amenities to post reserved signs, turn on/off water/power, and resolve conflicts and compliance issues.Reviews daily patrol logs; maintenance observation reports, incidents, general accident, vehicle accident, and employee injury reports, or other required reports as necessary.Develops individual program budgets and monitors performance against the annual budget.Evaluates program effectiveness and recommends termination or expansion.Ensures a safe environment is maintained at respective City facilities and open space areas.Negotiates contracts for respective program areas.Prepares complete, accurate, and concise written reports and correspondence.Characteristics
