The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in directing the overall location's performance providing public transit services. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the contracts, facility and safety of personnel and passengers, customer service and managing the financials.Responsibilities:
Day to Day Operations ManagementProvides strategic planning and direction to the operationManages contract complianceHas shared responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing responsibilities for the management staff of the facilityOversees and manages drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and customer service representativesCreate and review reports monitoring performance, efficiency, and profitabilityOther duties as requiredEducation, Licensing, and Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred.Experience:
3+ years of supervisory or management level experience in the passenger transportation industryLabor relations experience preferredSkills and Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment lawsThorough knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operationThorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departmentsAbility to deal with state and local governmentAbility to manage cost control and financial/budget experience handling multiple locationsWorking knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programsStrong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organizationAbility to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to detailsAbility to work effectively with labor; including labor grievances and negotiationsMaintain CDL with applicable endorsementsTravel requirement (as a percent):
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilitiesWork is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.This position is subject to background testing and drug screening.Transdev is an equal opportunity employer.
