Overview

The General Manager provides a proactive management approach and will be responsible for operations, including delivering safe and reliable service, employee oversight, management of contract assets, risk management, client and customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This position is based in

Livermore, CA .

Responsibilities:

Proven relationship builder with employees, the client, union partners, and the communitySets commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team and leads the management team and employee workforce to achieve corporate/property safety goals, service performance, and financial objectivesIdentifies and develops business growth opportunitiesOptimizes the return on assets deployed within the business to include vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and performance managementIdentifies and analyzes KPIs to maintain positive resultsEnsures services are provided within budget and implements action plans to improve operational efficienciesDetermines and delivers business unit budgetEnsures compliance with state and federal regulations and Transdev corporate safety standardsManages staff development and training in liaison with the corporate team as appropriateEnsures effective environmental compliance and sustainability managementProvides complete and accurate data collection, analysis, and reportingOther duties as requiredTransdev is proud to offer:

Education:

Completion of a four (4) year college degree in a relevant field is desirable, although appropriate education obtained through alternative methods will be consideredExperience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field or equivalent business experience preferredField and years of experience required:

Minimum of 5 years as a successful General Manager of a project of a similar size and scope, preferred or proven ability to grow and adapt quickly with proven performance and expertise in providing high-quality service to the communityAt least 5 years of experience managing a turnkey ADA paratransit operation with over 100 daily runsLabor relations experienceSkills and Knowledge Required:

Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment lawsThorough knowledge of ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operationRequires 3-5 years of recent and relevant direct experience managing all aspects of a fixed-route servicePrior experience working with collective bargaining agreementsThorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departmentsAbility to build and maintain strong working relationships with clientsAbility to manage cost control and financial budgetWorking knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteUnderstanding of technology, apps, Wi-Fi, and transportation technologyStrong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organizationAbility to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to detailsAbility to work effectively with union partners, including labor grievances and negotiationsTravel requirement:The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
