Overview:
The General Manager provides a proactive management approach and will be responsible for operations, including delivering safe and reliable service, employee oversight, management of contract assets, risk management, client and customer satisfaction, and financial performance. This position is based in Livermore, CA.
Responsibilities:
Proven relationship builder with employees, the client, union partners, and the community.
Sets commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team according to the contract and leads the management team and employee workforce to achieve corporate/property safety goals, service performance, and financial objectives.
Responsible for identifying and developing business growth opportunities.
Responsible for optimizing the return on assets deployed within the business, including vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and performance management.
Responsible for identifying and analyzing KPIs to maintain positive results.
Ensures services are provided within budget and develops action plans to improve operational efficiencies.
Responsible for determining and delivering the business unit budget.
Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and Transdev corporate safety standards.
Responsible for all staff management, development, and training in liaison with the corporate team as appropriate.
Ensures effective environmental compliance and sustainability management.
Provides complete and accurate data collection, compilation, analysis, and reporting.
Other duties as required.

The salary range for this opportunity is $120,000-170,000 (DOE).

Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of a four (4) year college degree in a relevant field is desirable, although appropriate education obtained through alternative methods will be considered.
Experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field or equivalent business experience preferred.
Field and years of experience required:
Minimum of 5 years as a successful General Manager of a project of a similar size and scope, preferred or proven ability to grow and adapt quickly with proven performance and expertise in providing high-quality service to the community.
At least 5 years of experience managing a turnkey ADA paratransit operation with over 100 daily runs.
Labor relations experience.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws.
Thorough knowledge of ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operation.
Requires 3-5 years of recent and relevant direct experience managing all aspects of a fixed-route service.
Prior experience working with collective bargaining agreements.
Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments.
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
Ability to manage cost control and financial budget.
Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Understanding of technology, apps, Wi-Fi, and transportation technology.
Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to organize and perform work efficiently, strong attention to details.
Ability to work effectively with union partners, including labor grievances and negotiations.
