Salary Guide:

£80,000 – £90,000 (Negotiable DOE) and Excellent BenefitsIntroduction: Our Client is developing and building multiple multi-year Contracts and Projects in the UK. The Commercial Manager is a key role who will be the commercial lead and ensure the successful completion of multiple challenging anaerobic digestor construction projects and injection hubs each valued at £25m with a total spend of £400m. Once delivered this role will continue as a commercial lead for the operational business.Key Responsibilities

Work closely and collaboratively with the Senior Management Team.Conduct contract negotiations with principal contractors and subcontractors and manage all subsequent contract administration post award.Review Invitations to Tender and ensure commercial aspects of the contracts are managed effectively.Build strong relationships with all principal and subcontractors to ensure successful delivery of all projects.Production of main and subcontracts to ensure the proper management of the supply chain & to ensure the timely delivery of goods and equipment within the agreed budgets.Management of all associated internal delivery team resource allocation.Management of the procurement activities, subletting and management of contract works, correspondence and relationship with the supply chain.Production of project programs, compilation of monthly contract and financial reports.Design and produce high level commercial reports with emphasis on project specific reports, including Profit & Loss reporting, protecting the business from commercial risk and ensuring adherence to governance is met from tender enquiries through to final account.Review and timely negotiation of final accounts.Ensure the profitability, cash and risk management, cost control and accurate reporting of engineering and construction activities on each project.Undertake cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.Ensure commercial challenge at all times to engineering and site teams.Resolving contractual and commercial problems.Review all contract orders and advise accordingly within the business.Chair and attend internal and external commercial review meetings.Development of supply chain relationships with main contractor, suppliers and sub-contractors for the benefit of projects.Challenge supply chain procurement while utilising extensive knowledge of NEC and business law to verify, oversee or approve commercial agreements and documentation.Ensure that the financial aspects and commercial risks of a contract are clear to all parties.Lead final account negotiation achieving the best possible outcome.Maximising value and minimising cost, ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to monitor and manage the operating cost base.Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s.Ensure that the delivery team are briefed and have sufficient commercial support to monitor and react to budget variances.Manage commercial reporting process internally and externally.Contract and commercial management of main contractor and subcontractor accounts from initial engagement to negotiation and agreement of final accounts.Ensuring timely certification and payment of subcontractors.Review of monthly cost and value to complete forecasts for projects.Active involvement in Risk Management.Provision of commercial and contractual support and advice to management and operational teams.What You’ll Need

Comprehensive contract and commercial management experience in a similar position ideally with a Civil Engineering or Process Contractor or a similar role in a client organisation.Relevant experience on challenging, multi-million-pound projects within a process industry such as water/wastewater, energy from waste, anaerobic digestion.Qualification at HND level (or higher) in an engineering discipline, contract or project management, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.Experience in dispute resolution processes.Experience using NEC and IChemE conditions of contract.Experience working in a collaborative environment.CSCS registered.Experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, A Site, document sharing platforms.Job Information
