Salary:

£70,000 – £80,000 Plus Car Allowance and PackageOur client is developing multiple anaerobic digestion projects in the UK and they are recruiting for a SHEQ Manager who will play an important role in the construction of these challenging anaerobic digester projects with each valued at £25m and with a total spend of £400m+.In this role you will ensure health and safety management systems and arrangements are at the forefront of best practice, and provide assurance that these systems are applied across the business consistently to effectively control the risk of activities across all of their sites.Responsibilities:

Produce health and safety management systems, processes and forms that ensure the company effectively meets its SHEQ policy commitments and legal obligations.Be the immediate point of contact for operational health and safety matters.Undertake site SHEQ inspections and audits and completion of reports for each site visited.Development and implementation of new company SHEQ systems and initiatives.Development and implementation of CDM in-house systems and initiatives.Development and implementation of PAS 110 for Producing Quality Anaerobic Digestate.Development and implementation of systems and initiatives to obtain and maintain environmental permits.Robustly uphold and develop the internal audit process to ensure that the company meets its health and safety policy commitments and legal obligations.Manage and maintain the audit process by carrying out rigorous formal site inspections, raising and monitoring the timely close out of NCR’s and positively mentoring staff to raise the health and safety standards.Carry out audits on the company supply chain and where NCR’s are identified implement remedial action plans to escalate the contractor’s standards to the required level.Support operational staff during accident/incident investigation to ensure that the root cause is established and remedial actions to prevent a reoccurrence are implemented.Support operational staff in the production and development of health and safety plans and supporting documentation.Establish a close working rapport with Safety Managers/Advisors from both the Principal Contractor, other contractors and specialist sub-contractors.Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

Comprehensive understanding of health, safety and environmental management systems.Full understanding and experience of implementing environmental legislation, including waste management, carbon reduction and emergency procedures.Understanding of Construction/M&E industry standards & systems.Ability to influence and motivate operational staff in a high risk environment.Ability to take a leading role in the implementation of systems to meet company and legislative requirements.NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.Member of IOSH or IIRSM.IT literate around basic MS Office software.Member of IEMA.National Construction Certificate.Certificated Auditor.Formal behavioural training course.Background in construction.Job Information
