The position of the third shift Quality Supervisor is instrumental to the daily success of the facility. This leader's responsibility is to lead the quality food safety initiatives on third shift while supporting cross-functional supervisors on third shift. This candidate can achieve this task by evaluating daily production, updating programs and documents to improve and simplify our process, and verifying all Food Safety Quality and Food Defense Programs are compliant on an ongoing daily basis throughout the year so no gaps exist. Some areas of focus consist of Kraft Heinz policies, KHMS, HACCP, USDA/FDA regulations, FSSC, religious laws, and state laws. This candidate must have a “Boots on the floor” mentality every day to learn the production floor processes across the facility and all the required regulatory equipment in the facility. They will be supporting the verification for the functionality of the equipment and compliance to all hourly trained programs and initiatives. This candidate must be able to coach/teach/communicate at all levels from the hourly employees to the facility manager on site.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Be the third shift quality supervisor leader for the department that maintains all programs to a very high Food Safety level for compliance.Actively engaged support in planning, defining, and directing the site auditing control program to ensure compliance to all procedures, and policies, GMP standards, Kraft Heinz requirements, and regulatory, federal and local laws.Support the KHMS system and operational standards as outlined in the plant accountability list.Train, mentor, and lead third shift site Quality, Maintenance, Materials, and Production team members to ensure quality program goals are met. Strong support to site KHMS/ISO Coordinator. Monitor and maintain plant KHMS program by complying with current Kraft Heinz and International Audit (FSSC/ISO) standards. Facilitate and co-lead site cross-functional quality team and participate with Kraft Heinz corporate to ensure successful certifications for the site.Ensure all Specification/KPI/KHMS/FSSC/ISO/Golden Rules plans are maintained and executed.Support all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits. Support and lead third shift audit preparation activities, accompany inspector, and complete necessary reports for communication and process owner postings.Lead follow-ups to non-conformances found and provide responses as appropriate for all third shift risks. Review and approve minor change requests.Support the compliance for Hold/Release documentation and dispositioning of products.Complete and lead validation studies for all CCPs, OPRPs and other significant controls in accordance with approved methodologies.Maintain Quality Suite to track and trend quality checks data and create new projects as needed.Perform Net content calculation analysis for New SKU to meet the NIST requirement or for retargeting for current SKUs.Ensure compliance to Golden Rules and other Quality principles through routine auditing, reporting, and trending compliance appropriately.Provide expertise on third shift and supporting shifts while actively participating in equipment commissioning and startup, ensuring standardization of all applicable quality and food safety procedures are followed and gaps are called out for future corrective actions.Adhere to approved Control of change procedures, to include reviewing partial HACCP plans and issuing Agile change requests, as needed. You will be the point of contact for all meetings impacting third shift.Expected Experience & Required Skills:Prefer minimum of 5+ years of experience working in quality, production, or sanitation departments within the food industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership position in a food manufacturing facility.Prefer strong understanding of HACCP principles, food safety regulations, quality system management system, sanitation run rules, production processes, and the KHMS framework if applicable.Prefer strong leadership, technical, communication, delegation, and organizational skills along with keen attention to detail.Prefer being proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, Agile, and matrix databases.Work Environment:This manufacturing facility is a cold 40-45 degrees (USDA) environment and ambient 65-75 degrees (FDA) environment. The facility produces both FDA and USDA products. The candidate will be performing some work on a computer and will be expected to be “Boots on the floor” daily or as needed per business needs. The candidate will be overseeing multiple hourly direct reports while working closely with multiple cross-functional supervisors.Schedule:The work schedule is a core Monday – Friday day 3rd shift with weekend/off shift hours as needed per business needs. The facility is a 24/7 plant so adjustments to work schedule can happen.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those minimum expectations by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will sit, talk, walk and hear, etc. The employee at a minimum will have to stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel.
