Lummi Nation Job Center:Substance Use Disorder Professional IILummi Counseling Services has expanded its program to provide Mental Health-Substance Use Disorder (MH-SUD) support by opening a 24/7 Secure Withdrawal Detoxification center. The Certified Community Behavioral Health-Expansion (CCBHC-E) is a grant given to support increased access to improve the quality of community MH-SUD treatment services.The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) will provide services to the 24/7 Secure Withdrawal Detoxification clients and to Level 1 Outpatient/Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient persons. Individual service functions performed by SUDP include:Screening for eligibilityIntake to programsOrientation to program goals and rulesClient assessmentsGroup counselingCrisis interventionClient educationReferralsReport and record keepingConsultation with other professionals regarding client treatment servicesADISThe SUDP will work closely with the courts, Drug Court participants, and Whatcom County Jail for clients needing inpatient treatment. The SUDP will also work closely with the OTP Program Manager for ongoing services with LHSC and will assist with the training of new OTP SUDP/SUDPT Counselors, ensuring proper training of policies and procedures.
